Original painting, oil on canvas, by the important Greek painter Nikodimos (1951-2021), signed lower left. It is depicted on the cover and inside the artist's book. Image size 60 X 40 cm (or 23. 5 X 15. 6 in), with a wooden frame 67 X 47 cm (or 23.3 X 18.5 in) and weight 2,250 gr. It is in excellent collector's condition. From a smoke / pet free home. A few words from the biography and the review of Dora Iliopoulou-Rogan, doctor Art History of University Paris and Technocritic, who was impressed by the painting of Nicodemos:
The monk Nikodimos (born Nikos Perakakis, Athens 1951-2021) was a Greek painter, iconographer, poet, writer and musician. He attended classes at the Law School of Athens, but he interrupted his studies and left at the age of 21 for Mount Athos, where he became a monk from 1972 to 1990 and served as Secretary to the Holy Community. Living in a cell, in deliberate isolation, writing poems and painting many religious icons. However, his talent did not go unnoticed by various visitors who contributed to organizing his first two exhibitions in Athens, with great success. In 1985 at the Foreign Press Correspondents' Room and in 1991 at the "Ora" Gallery. Significantly, after this second exhibition, Nikodimos did not return to Mount Athos, but remained in Athens, painting and writing continuously. Participated in many group exhibitions in Greece and abroad (Austria, Germany, USA, etc.) He has published 15 poetry collections, prose, etc. He was very attracted to painting since childhood, to the secrets of which he was introduced by the important painter Theodoros Manolidis, who familiarized him with the concept of quality and perfection even in the smallest detail. A characteristic of Nikodimos is his spontaneity and, something source. He does not copy anyone, he is simply himself and this is a rare. Simple, direct, modest and at the same time charismatically source, Nikodimos, with his sense of light and the dynamism of color, but also the passion and dedication that characterizes him in painting, manages to depict with the same vivacity, both his religious works and his works from everyday life, landscapes, portraits, nudes and still lifes, using colors, exclusively, of very good quality. He paints in metaphysical, cosmogenic rhythms. He succeeds to transfose to us, through something real, through the visible reality, as he processes it, the invisible. Light created through color and vice versa in the works of Nikodimos, which literally radiate and always have something essential to convey to us. Nikodimos is indeed a very great artist, without a doubt.
