A wonderfully crafted German art deco mantel or table clock. These types of fine bim-bam clocks were manufactured in Germany in the 1940's (or 1930's). Similar examples were produced by Kienzle, Kieninger, Hermle, Mauthe, Junghans among others. This Bauhaus wind-up clock highlights German quality and character. It has an arched wooden body with gorgeous coromandel details, glossy chrome feet and accents and a brass dial & bezel. A classy and rare timepiece in a fine working condition. It is fully functioning, runs on time, chimes every half and full hour, has a 3 bar gong. In a good vintage state, showing traces of usage and ageing, like slight marks and wear to the wood and metals. A small piece of veneer came off of the bottom right on the front of the casing. Comes with a winding key.
