For your consideration is a rare vintage 10 inch Edison Diamond Disc by Polska Kapela Warszawa entitled Grzmot Oberek b/w Marsz Wilenski. Disc has edge flaking but does not go into grooves. Rare ethnic series issue. Edison began expanding his catalogue to ethnic music around 1920, but even at the peak of production, the average issue would only reach a pressing run of about 1500 discs. Numbers which would decline as low as under 300 pressings for ethnic issues from the latter part of the decade. These discs were not heavily pushed or promoted to dealers by the label, so were only pressed in the amounts requested by regional dealers who felt there was a market for them, mainly in major cities like Cleveland, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia and New York. Dealers often did not request many copies pressed, even if there was a market, because customers interested in ethnic material were often first generation immigrants of meager means, who saw little sense in paying 1.35 to 2.25 for an Edison record when they could spend .75 on an Ethnic series Victor or Columbia which also featured much more well known artists. Diamond Discs which didn't sell would often be shipped overseas to the UK or Australia, but the regional / esoteric nature of these records made this unviable, and many were melted down to be recycled. These factors, as well as typical loss from poor storage and discarding them, puts the likely survival rate of these discs at 5-10% in any condition, and truly great condition examples are probably existing in only 1/10th of those numbers, making it not uncommon for truly excellent examples to be extant in quantities of anywhere from 3 - 20 pieces. In my 10 years of collecting I have never seen any ethnic issues until now so don't miss out on these!

Keep in mind that for the highest fidelity reproduction results, a correct sized, well maintained stylus should always be used and antique records should also always receive a deep cleaning with a stiff bristled brush and a non-alcohol based soap. I do not provide grading beyond what is required by eBay. All 78 rpm records, vinyl or shellac, will be shipped sandwiched between either thick cardboard or some spare 78 rpm discs to provide substantial reinforcement for uneven pressure placed on a package during shipment. The record sandwich is then suspended in packing peanuts on all sides. Packing peanuts are the optimal durable memory material as they will insulate your item against any acute forces such as a fall or any type of blow and unlike bubble wrap will not pop and lose their shape if subjected to a strong force.
