Revelation Space
Alastair Reynolds  ·  Victor Gollancz, London, 2000  ·  First Edition Hardcover  ·  Signed & Dated

Alastair Reynolds' debut novel, the opening volume of the Revelation Space universe, in a signed and dated first edition hardcover from Victor Gollancz (London, 2000). Reynolds signed and dated the title page; the inscription is clear and bold.

Reynolds was a practising astrophysicist at the European Space Agency when this book was published, and that background runs throughout the novel: the physics are real, the scale is genuinely interstellar, and the darkness is earned. Revelation Space helped define what contemporary space opera could be, and signed first editions of his debut remain among the most collected items in modern science fiction.

This copy was acquired from a private collector's library and is among the better examples of this title I've encountered. Clean boards, tight binding, and a dust jacket that presents beautifully in person. Housed in an archival protective sleeve.

Condition Notes
Dust Jacket Near Fine+. Bright and unfaded, with minor surface scuffing to the upper rear panel and spine ends — nothing structural. No tears, no price clipping. Colours vivid. Housed in a fitted archival sleeve.

Binding Tight throughout. No cracking to spine.
