TAT (Transcontinental Air Transport) Inaugural Coast-to-Coast Flight cover, July 8, 1929, the day Port Columbus Airport was dedicated as the air hub of America's first transcontinental passenger service — the "Lindbergh Line." Front features two green cachets: an "Inaugural Flight Coast to Coast via T.A.T. and Penna. Ry." header and a circular "Dedication Port Columbus July 8, 1929" cachet. Franked with the 5¢ International Civil Aeronautics Conference commemorative (Scott #649, 1928) — a perfectly appropriate stamp. "Air Mail" biplane handstamp in blue. Addressed to Indianapolis, Indiana — a city on the actual TAT route. Reverse bears an impressive gold metallic Columbus Chamber of Commerce promotional label: "Where Plane & Train Meet / Nation's Greatest Air Harbor." TAT merged with Western Air Express in 1930 to become TWA. From an estate collection. 

Condition: Good to VG, some toning and light aging, both cachets clear and legible, metallic label intact. A landmark piece of American aviation history.
