I bought this out of impulse for parts.  There were just some loose connectors so I fixed it up and realized I don't really need it. 

It plays and reads discs fine, it doesn't support mp3 CDs sadly but it can read burned ones without a problem.  All the functions and buttons also seem to work just fine.  I wasn't able to test the SPDIF out, but the built-in DAC likes to clip a little compared to my other players, it will still play though.
