Most broken meter box doors are a pain to repair because the original hinge points have failed, the box is mounted tight to a wall, or there simply isn’t enough clearance for a conventional repair.
I designed this hinge specifically to solve that problem. Instead of relying on the original hinge points, it uses flat fixing plates, a flexible central hinge section, and multiple mounting positions so it can be installed in places where other repair options struggle.
| Universal fit | Designed to adapt to many common meter box doors and frames rather than depend on one or two exact hinge layout. |
| Works in tight spaces | Can be fitted where the door is close to brickwork or mounted at awkward angles. |
| Ideal for flush-mounted boxes | A great option for doors that sit very close to the wall and leave little clearance for traditional repairs. |
| Self-tapping screws included | Designed to be installed with self-tapping screws so that unusual angles can be supported |
| Adjustable fixing positions | Multiple holes allow you to choose the best position and work around damaged original mounting points. |
| Saves replacing the whole box | A quick, tidy, cost-effective repair that avoids the hassle and expense of changing the full enclosure. |
This repair hinge is especially useful where:
Replacing an entire meter box door or front panel can be expensive, awkward, and completely unnecessary when the real problem is just the hinge.
This repair gives you a straightforward fix that is quick to install, neat once fitted, and designed around the kinds of awkward installations people actually have on their homes.
Multiple hinges can be combined on installations where the door is damaged and multiple points of contact are needed.
Ideal for DIY repairs, trades and Landlords or property managers who need to make every penny count. (discounts on multi buy - we know you'll need several sometimes!)
