ITEM DESCRIPTION

A caddy like this one is required for early Macintosh CD-ROM drives. Early Macs with caddy-load drives include the Quadra and Centris 6xx series, Quadra 800, 900, and 950 and the early PowerMac 6100, 7100 and 8100 series. These caddies are in great condition with no cracks or signs of excessive use.

Color coded caddies are a great way to identify frequently used discs! Other colors available - check our listings!

These caddies are slightly different than you might be used to. There is no metal slider, but rather a plastic protective case for the caddy when not in use. 100% compatible with caddy-load drives found on Macs, though!

Also included with this caddy is a copy of the legendary Legacy Restore CD, which includes every Macintosh operating system through 8.0, including software to make installation floppies, and a host of driver and utility programs. You can see the contents of the CD in the attached screenshots. The CD is also BOOTABLE so you can use it to install any version of system software on any early Mac with a CD-ROM drive.

TESTING

This drive was tested to mount and read a CD-ROM with no problems.

This item will be shipped USPS Priority Mail, which will arrive in 2-3 days for most US locations. International shipping is via USPS Global Priority Mail.

WARRANTY

This drive is guaranteed to read, format, and write onto new media. Due to the degradation that occurs on floppy disks, we cannot guarantee it will read everything in your old diskette collection. That said, we will warrant proper operation for ONE MONTH starting on the day of delivery. We will exchange if inventory exists, or issue a refund if you have any problems.
