Ancient Chinese bronze cash coin identified as Huo Quan, Wang Mang period, Hartill 9.59, from the Xin dynasty reform coinage of AD 14-23. The catalogue match is correct for this type.
I am currently selling items from my old collection.
A very collectible early Chinese coin from the Wang Mang reforms, with clear character detail, a neat square central hole, and attractive old patina. This is a desirable Hartill 9.59 type and is offered as an individual piece. Comparable references for this type show around 22 mm and about 3.67 g as a standard example; your coin at 22.5 mm and 4.25 g is still a believable piece within the hand-made ancient series.
