On offer on Auction is 1x New, Unused  - J G (John Guest )  SPEEDFIT  reuseable Straight TAP / Toilet Cistern 1/2" bsp - 15mm plumbing CONNECTOR plus locking COLLET .

Detail/Specifications;

. this Speedfit plumbing Connector is suitable for hot and cold water systems plus central heating and combi units.

. designed for connecting to appropriate plastic or copper 15 mm o/d plumbing piping.

. has a brass 1/2" bsp threaded nut for connecting to brass taps/ toilet cistern valves or nylon 1/2" bsp threaded toilet cistern valves.

  Please note that connecting the latter does require a certain amount of skill to prevent cross threading.  To ensure a good seal on

  all threaded parts plumbing tape is recommended.

. the brass nut tap connection side is the insert flange type and comes with the appropriate sealing washer.  Please ensure the

  nut is not over tightened to avoid damage to the washer.

. overall length  - approx 65 mm.

Connecting : 

If plastic JG plumbing piping is used please ensure an "insert" is pushed into the pipe to support the neck and prevent collapse

before connecting it to the plastic end of the Tap Connector.  To connect  simply push the one end of the 15mm plastic pipe  (insert side

of the pipe) into Tap Connector's plastic screw collet. One can hear a faint click and also feel the pipe hitting the inside stop ring.  Twist

the connector's plastic screw collet clockwise until tight.  This will lock the 15mm plumbing piping in place.  To ensure a

"belts and braces" secure fitting a separate "collet locking circlip " can also be fitted in the gap between the connector's screw collet

and the collet ring lip.

Disconnecting : 

Should the need arise to disconnect the plumbing piping or remove the connector simply remove the "collet locking circlip "

( if one is fitted ) unlock the the connector's plastic screw collet by turning anti clockwise, depress the collet ring lip inwards and

pull the pipe free.

The fitting ensures a simpler and faster inserting, removal or repair to plumbing piping especially in confined spaces, saves time

( up to 45% of time when using traditional methods ) and does away with hot soldering.

Please note that when joining any plastic JG piping to any connectors it is imperative and essential that that the correct support "insert"

is fitted to the pipe end before its fitted into the connector otherwise the join will collapse and leak
