This is a tin friction British Supermarine Spitfire plane model toy made in Japan by HTC (Hillel Trading Co.). It was manufactured in the late 1950s or early 1960s. It is 10 inches long and 9 inches wide.

Condition: It is being sold as is and has some condition issues that include: One blade on the propeller is missing, there are surface scratches and general wear to paint all over, one wing has a slight dent on it (not too noticeable unless touched), the friction winds up and sounds normal, but plane does not glide across the floor. There is likely a slipped gear or jammed flywheel/gear and will need to be opened up and tinkered with. Please view photos to see overall condition.
