Identification Details

 * Issuer: Likely Antiochus I Soter (reigned 281–261 BC) or Antiochus III the Great (reigned 222–187 BC).

 * Obverse (Front): Features the head of Apollo, the patron god of the Seleucid dynasty. He is typically shown with laureate hair (wearing a laurel wreath).

 * Reverse (Back): Depicts Apollo seated on an omphalos (the "navel-stone" of the world at Delphi). He is usually shown holding an arrow in his right hand and resting his left hand on a grounded bow.

 * Inscription: The Greek text on the back (though worn) originally read ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟΥ (Basileōs Antiochou), which translates to "Of King Antiochus."
