Continuing here a sale run of rare, top-choice Audiophile disks at V.S.O.V. (Stay Tuned for More!), on offer is a superb exemplar of one of the premier Direct-to-Disk classical wonder albums of the mid-1970s. This is the San Francisco-based Direct to Disk Records Sonic Arts Laboratory Series Live in Concert Issue No. 6 of 1976 vintage. On VInyl, these are the very best fruits of live performance richly captured via expertly miked, lush, enveloping stereo sound then transmitted direct-to-disk via meticulously cut masters and high-grade, vinyl disks rigorously limited in the number of stampings made. This example is first edition, with hand-engraved Deadwax dated 1976 and signed by the renowned, path-breaking, and meticulous SAC recording engineer Leo de Gar Kulka. Under bright light, Disk appears flawless and pristine. Retains high-gloss sheen on both faces. Appears very little played. Play Grading shows bright, vibrant, richly ambient playback with ultra-quiet disk surfaces, superb capture of the piano line, and all the ambiance and verve of a live, improvisatory performance. Jacket also in near-mint condition. Not a Cut-Out. Inner, audiophile-grade, plastic sleeve of the era in perfect condition. Complete liner notes on soloists, musics performed, and ultra-detailed account of recording process and all Direct-to-Disk recording equipment involved (see Photos). A certain audiophile rarity here!
