Modernist-meets-traditional green Carico Lake turquoise earrings set in sterling silver with raindrops along the outside edge between each of the stones and a rope design on the inside edge.  They are hallmarked "LMB" and "Sterling".  Larry Moses Begay (b. 1969) began creating jewelry in the late 1980s. He is a member of the famous Begay family that has been silversmithing for decades.  He is the nephew of famed Navajo cluster artist Victor Moses Begay.  Larry is quite well-known for his cutting, shaping and arrangement of petit point cabochons, the materials he uses and his technique. These earrings feature bright green Carico Lake turquoise set in toothed bezels arranged opposite bumped-out crescents.  The half moon shape of these earrings is a classic "Modernist-meets-Traditional" silhouette that he executed with precision.
Carico Lake turquoise is famous for the distinct "apple green" or "mint" green color due to zinc content.  It is one of the most popular sources for high-end Navajo green turquoise jewelry.
The beauty of sterling silver is it can become dark and be brought back to a beautiful shine time after time by using a soft jewelry polishing cloth.
Never out of style, Southwest jewelry is an investment in enjoyment to last a lifetime.
