Vintage Mid-Century Culinary Ephemera Archive – Booklets & Handwritten Recipes

 

Description: This lot offers a unique look into the evolution of the 20th-century American kitchen. It includes a mix of published company premiums and personal, hand-recorded family history.

Included in this lot:

·       1940 "250 Fish and Sea Food Recipes": Edited by Ruth Berolzheimer (Culinary Arts Institute). 48 pages of pre-war seafood techniques. Shows age-appropriate toning; covers are present but show wear.

·       1959 Pillsbury’s 10th Grand National Bake-Off Cookbook: A classic 25¢ premium featuring 100 prize-winning recipes.

·       Internal Pillsbury Ephemera: This booklet was used as a folder for several decades of loose ephemera, including:

-       Handwritten Recipes: Multiple pages in vintage cursive, including "Rose Rice’s Cheese Cake" and a "Hawaii" themed recipe.

-       Vintage Fleischmann’s Yeast Packet: Rare "Triple-Fresh" active dry yeast packet.

-       Clippings: Mid-century Nabisco Zwieback toast and Knudsen Dairy holiday recipes.

·       "5 Great Cuisines" with Planters Peanut Oil (1967): A brand-sponsored international cooking guide.

·       Vintage Wilton Method Basic Cake Decorating: Course manual with detailed floral piping instructions.

·       Modern Additions: Martha Stewart "Everyday Food" (2009) and several Ralphs grocery recipe cards.

 

Condition: Items are in authentic vintage condition. Expect typical signs of kitchen use, including edge wear, light staining, and page toning. No significant missing text. Handwritten recipes show varied states of aging on different paper stocks.
