This old Brass statue is a very fine specimen of a lost-wax-cast method of idol creation in ancient India. It requires very good craftsmanship to achieve such details in this small a size. This idol of Garuda depicts him in kneeling pose with his wings spread and hands ready as foot-rests for his master Lord Vishnu, who he is ready to carry. A statue of Vishnu was probably a part of this piece since there is a pedestal fixed at the back of this Garuda statue.
