Fantastic Vivianite crystal specimen with transparent green Ludlamite crystals in a Limonite and Siderite matrix.
The Vivianite crystals are cleaved into a radiating array of green and blue blades and have a bright shiny luster. The Vivianite sit atop a bed of Ludlamite crystals and there is one nice Ludlamite at the base which looks like a nucleus that the Vivianite array fan out from.
The matrix has many small spheres of Siderite that look like seeds and they tend to fall off with just basic handeling, the opposite side of the large Vivianite crystal array shows more Ludlamite which is mostly damgaed and some patches of blue Vivianite protruding from the matrix.
The Siderite spheres are weathered and poorly bonded and typically some fall off when handled, so handle with care.
This specimen and all Vivianite should be kept in low light to dark storage as the colors with turn from green to blue to black with sunlight exposure.
