Westcoast saw air filters offer a much Improved dust filtration compared to standard air filters as supplied on chainsaws. A combination of a 65 micron foam bonded to a plastic base form, secured with a jubilee clip against the mounting boss on your saw, and the filter oil you apply to the foam stops fines from entering the saw, which cause carbon build up and block spark arrestors. You should use a bottled oil rather than a spray type, to correctly oil the filter.
