A very nice, lightly run, Lionel 1802 Alaska ARR Powered GP7 Diesel with Horn and cab roof beacon for O/027 gauge.  Made in 1998-99 as part of the 11972 Alaska ARR freight set. 

This GP7 style diesel features a "maintenance free" can motor, 4 wheel drive, 2 traction tires, conventional transformer control, 3 position (Fwd-Neutral- Rev) electronic reversing (E-Unit) with lock-out switch, electronic diesel horn sound (with on/off switch), illuminated cab roof beacon, operating magnetic couplers, metal frame & railings and Illuminated front & rear headlights & number boards and great Alaska colors & graphics. 

I added the beacon bulb (built as un-lit), replaced the traction tires (original ones dried/stretched), lubed the gears & rollers and briefly tested all functions on my layout and the motor, reversing unit, horn and lights all worked great!

**Note a transformer whistle/horn control (or separate control) is required to activate the diesel horn***

This engine did not come with an individual box (from set pack) but I will wrap & pack with care prior to shipment and I'll provide an extract copy of the Lionel set instructions.
