The French Louis XIV style mantel clock, dating from the early 19th century,

This piece features a brass inlay, specifically in the "Contre Boulle" style, where the metal component is more prominent than the inlay itself. The intricate sawing and carving of the brass demonstrate exceptional quality and refinement.


The dial, crafted from gilt bronze, is adorned with 12 cartouches, features a gilt dial with black and white enamelled numerals. It operates on a brass, eight-day, twin train movement, striking on a bell, and is housed in a boulle and brass and red case adorned with gilt metal mounts and  cupid finial. The clock is accompanied by its key and pendulum.


This clock is in good working order, with the movement functioning correctly.

The clock measures 49cm in height, 22cm in width, and 12cm in depth.

The impressive original timepiece includes a striking mechanism that chimes on a beautifully resonant bell every full and half hour. The Boulle work is in good condition.
