Features
Handheld and tabletop microtomes are used to cut thin sections of microscopic materials such as sample parts of plants and animals. It is considered the basic shape of a microtome that allows microtomic incisions quickly and accurately by hand. The microtome is suitable for hands-on courses in microscopy, fieldwork during trips, schooling, and for a serious amateur of biology.
A well-designed hand-operated bench microtome can be securely attached to the edge of any bench, table, or work surface using the mounting clamp. The cutting platform features a smooth, wide, flat top and durable glass surface to guide the cutting razor and protect the hand. The feed screw has fine and long threads, so the embedded material is advanced very gradually to easily cut the thin cuts. The razor is made of surgical grade steel with 75mm cutting edge.
