Alternator Disassembly and Assembly:
■ On-board Dismantling of Alternator
Disconnect negative battery terminal
- Record ECU/component info first (DTC, radio channels, seat/steering wheel memory).
Disconnect alternator power cord & connector
- Confirm power cut-off; disconnect main power cord (positive) and signal connector to avoid short circuits.
Disassemble alternator
- Loosen penetration bolts/tensioner pulleys; remove drive belt (note belt routing).
- Remove fixing bolts (2-3 usually); take out alternator from engine front end.
Post-dismantling check
- Inspect for external damage (casing cracks, terminal corrosion); mark worn parts (bearing, pulley) for replacement.
■ Alternator Mounting
Install alternator
- Follow reverse disassembly order.
- Align with mounting bracket; insert penetration bolts.
- Pre-tighten fixing bolts (leave room for belt tension adjustment).
Install drive belt
- Fit belt per recorded routing (ensure it sits in pulley grooves).
- Pry alternator outward (e.g., with hammer handle) to adjust tension (deflection: 10-15mm when pressed).
- Fully tighten penetration bolts & fixing bolts after confirming deflection.
Connect wiring harness
- Reconnect main power cord (positive); secure with lock washer.
- Connect signal connector; install short-circuit-proof cover on power terminal.
Reconnect negative battery terminal
- Restore recorded ECU/component settings (radio, seat memory).
Post-installation test
- Start engine; check for smooth operation (no abnormal noise).
- Use multimeter to verify output voltage (13.5-14.5V normal range).
