This printed image captures NGC 1672 a barred spiral galaxy located about 49 million light years away in the constellation Dorado. The Hubble composite shows bright young stars filling the disk sweeping spiral arms marked by red hydrogen emission regions a ring of hot gas near the center and an X ray bright active galactic nucleus.
