Fujitsu LifeBook P1630

Thank you for looking at this truly one-of-a-kind mini hybrid Windows laptop/tablet!

The fastest of Fujitsu's 8.9" form factor Hybrid Tablet PCs, the P1630 doubles as either a subnotebook/ultraportable laptop or rotate the screen to turn it into a touchscreen tablet. This was the successor to the Lifebook P1510D, P1610, P1620, and is the last Lifebook of this size before Fujitsu's transition to larger 12.1" display models. Comes with:

AC Adapter: Includes power cord
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo at 1.2GHz
OS: Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (activated), Windows Vista product key on rear
RAM: 2GB
HDD: 64GB
Screen: 8.9" pressure sensitive touchscreen, with integrated Intel GMA 4500HD graphics

Tested, working:

Touchscreen - Unlike most modern touchscreens, the P1630 was pressure sensitive instead of capacitive. This means while you cannot use your fingertip to interact with the screen, you can use your fingernail or any (retracted) pen or stylus with a pointy tip (NOT the round rubber ones). Because my handwriting is terrible, as you may have guessed, the hello/date message was written by my wife using her fingernail.

Bluetooth - Connects fine to wireless earbuds.

Internal speaker - Not very loud, but is functional.

Battery - Works, but not sure of capacity. To test, I charged fully, left in standby for a few hours, then got about 1 hour out of it with minimal (word processing, some light web browsing) use. Mileage may vary.

Camera - Working

USB 2.0 - Working

Ethernet - 100Mbps, working

External Display port - VGA, working

Wifi - 2.4 GHz, working, connects at 54 Mbps. See below.

Mouse control - Thinkpad/Trackpoint style pointer input and buttons work as intended.

Other Notes:

AC Adapter: Included

Stylus: NOT Included

Wifi - ONLY known to work with 2.4 GHz. The unit detects my 5GHz network but will not connect. Could be a compatibility issue with a newer wifi standard not supported by the laptop or Windows 7, or a hardware issue. Latest Intel wifi drivers I could find are installed.

Keyboard Hotkeys - The function-row hotkeys (volume, brightness, etc) all work as intended. Note that you have to hold the Fn key or the laptop will think you are trying to push F7, F8, F9, etc.

Screen Hotkeys - The power button on the front bottom right of the screen works fine, but note that the other hotkeys on the front of the screen DO NOT RESPOND. I could not find the correct drivers for these. To change screen orientation, you can tap the iRotate icon in the system tray, or use standard keyboard shortcuts before flipping the screen around: Ctrl + Alt + Up for standard view (landscape), Ctrl + Alt + Left for portrait, or Ctrl + Alt + Right, for reverse portrait.

Not tested: SD card reader, PCMCIA slot, headphone jack

**PLEASE NOTE: This laptop was released and sold late 2008-2009. While it is the fastest of Fujitsu's 8.9" mini laptops, it is still an old computer. Youtube plays videos, but expect it to take a bit to load. Suffice to say you will not be doing video editing on here, or playing modern games. Your mileage may vary.

Will ship anywhere in the continental US, buyer pays actual shipping. No returns, as-is. Thank you!
