Nomura Mechanized Robot (Black) Battery-Operated Tin Robot with Original Box (Nomura, 1957). This (WORKING) Nomura Mechanized Robot is the early black battery-operated Robby-style version dated 1957, distinguished by the pin-style pulls on the battery box doors. In operation, the robot advances with a walking motion as the dome lights illuminate, the head pistons move up and down, and the antenna turns, combining multiple animated features typical of Nomura's mid-1950s output. The robot is constructed of tin with a clear plastic domed visor and represents one of Nomura's more dynamic Robby-inspired designs from the period. The Numora robot has been tested, and the robot walks and the dome lights up. This lightly used example is in remarkable condition. A mid-1950's Nomura mechanical Robby the robot variant offered with its original box, illustrating the company's peak mechanical design.
