Two amazing vases, I have never come across a pair quite like them.

They are not without production flaws as well as two repairs but they are so unique with a primitive, hand made nature, I expect it would be unlikely to find another pair quite like them.

They are 30cm tall and I think the style would be best described as Majolica and in my opinion there is Asian influence.

There are drying cracks throughout (clay shrinkage) including a hole in one that renders it useless as an actual vase as it lets out a steady stream of water as I’ve shown in one of the photos.

Each vase has an old repair, both at the rim that I have shown from each side in the last batch of photos.

The colours are vibrant yellow, green and blue and the handles represent a bird, perhaps a hummingbird but could also be mythical creatures such as Gryphons.

Intuitively I date them as 19th century however there are no marks or signatures.
