The GMW-B5000 series retains the iconic square design of the original G-SHOCK DW-5000C, born in 1983, while featuring a full metal construction and advanced functions including smartphone linking.
A shock-resistant structure, featuring a fine resin cushion between the hard stainless steel metal bezel and the main case, enables the full metal case. High-density mounting technology maintains the compact size. The back cover features a substantial screw-back case with a highly scratch-resistant DLC coating. The entire case and band undergo a gold IP coating for beautiful color reproduction. Visibility is enhanced using a film solar cell and STN-LCD (liquid crystal display).
Functionally, it incorporates Bluetooth® communication, enabling precise time acquisition via a dedicated app. Practical features include a standard radio wave time correction system (Multi-band 6), stable operation via Tough Solar, a high-brightness full auto LED backlight, World Time, and day-of-the-week display in six languages.
This G-SHOCK inherits its origins while achieving further refinement through its full metal construction.
