Rare Flat-Hand 1979 First-Edition doll re-secured in an original lightly restored box with a new plastic window. Doll is in new condition as hair is un-combed and plastic wrap from time of production is still protecting hair and outfit is seemingly flawless. Thank You postcard and original booklet included. Face was gently cleaned, no strawberry scent left. This flat-hand version was ONLY produced for one year in 1979. 

About the original Character:

Strawberry Shortcake appeared as the Original First Issue doll, classic doll with pet, Dancin’ ballerina doll, rag doll, Baby Blow Kiss, Party Pleaser, Berry Baby, Sweet Sleeper, and a Berrykin doll. With red hair and blue eyes, classic outfit includes a poufy pink hat, red & white dress, green & white striped tights, and brown shoes. 

DID YOU KNOW? 

First Edition "flat-hand" dolls were only produced in 1979 and did not come with a Pet. Only Apple Dumplin' had a pet Tea Time Turtle which was on all-fours and made of hard plastic. The first edition 1979 Four Classic Characters all had flat hands, which could not hold accessories like the dolls produced in the 80's.
