Description
Very nice and interesting Leica II to IIIA Syn conversion complete with Leitz 50mm f3.5 Elmar lens. In the past it was possible to upgrade the cameras. In this case one of the previous owners upgraded his Leica II to a Leica IIIA Syn. After the upgrade the camera was upgraded with short speeds, 1/1000 and was also synchronised. Probably at the same time the owner upgraded his lens. The lens, a Leitz 50mm f3.5 Elmar lens with a 6-digit serial number, was upgraded to a Red Scale lens with normal tube. Interesting about this set is that it probably was a set from the beginning. Both the camera and lens are from the same production year: 1932. The upgrade was quite expensive as that time but of course more interesting as buying a new camera. Set is in great condition. Some small signs incl. some brassing are visible. No dings or dents. The camera has a small piece of repaired vulcanite. Finder is bright and clear with a lot of contrast. Speeding times are accurate. Lens elements are clean. No haze, fungus, or separation. Some small scratches are visible on the lens elements and tube. Great set.
