Large copper penny token issued during the early 19th-century small change shortage in Britain. These privately struck provincial tokens were produced by copper manufacturers and circulated locally as trade currency.
Diameter approximately 36mm. Diagonally reeded edge.
Condition:

Circulated example with even wear and attractive dark chocolate tone. Legends and date clear. Some light surface marks consistent with age. No major rim damage. Please examine photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
