Completely Remanufactured Ford C4 Transmission.

 

New Parts include: High Energy Friction Clutch Plates (Raybestos or Alto), New Steel Clutch Plates, Intermediate Band, Reverse Band, Reverse Band Servo Piston, Overrunning Clutch Springs and Bearings, Bushings (where needed), Thrust Washers (where needed), New Pump Gears, New Rubber Seals and Gaskets, Modulator, Modulator Curved Hose, New Metal Clad Seals, New Sealing Rings, TransGo Shift Kit, Neutral Safety Switch, Filter, Transmission Pan, and other small parts. 

This is the .790" input shaft transmission used in 1964-1969 vehicles but will fit 1970-1977 vehicles as well. It does NOT come with a torque converter. The torque converter will need to be for a 1964-1969 model with 24 spline input shaft.  This transmission MUST be installed with a new or rebuilt torque converter. I would also recommend changing the flex plate and rear motor mount to a new one as well. The block plate between the engine and transmission must also match the transmission bell housing.  This transmission has the "B" intermediate servo. The shift kit in the valve body is a TransGo kit and is set up for heavy duty use. It is NOT a racing transmission. The Neutral Safety Switch is for later model cars but can easily be modified to fit earlier models. 

The bell housing that comes with this transmission is not an integral part of the transmission and can be swapped out for the four cylinder bell housing. (The four cylinder bell housing fits the 2300 engine found in Ford Pinto and it also fits the 2800 v6 found in Ford Ranger and Mercury Capri.) This included bell housing is for the Ford 144/170/200 inline six cylinder. It requires a torque converter with attached ring gear.  The part number for the current bell housing is C5GP-7976-A.  Use the part number of the bell housing to determine which flex plate, torque converter, block plate, and inspection cover you will need to properly install this transmission.  These items are NOT included with the transmission. 

This transmission has THREE Direct Drum Clutches and FOUR Forward Drum Clutches and can be used with inline four, inline six, and 2800 V6 (with correct bell housing - not included). Flex Plate, Separator Plate, Dipstick Tube, Dipstick and Inspection Cover are also NOT INCLUDED. 

There is NO WARRANTY and NO RETURN on this transmission. This transmission is being sold AS IS. All the pictures are used to demonstrate the process of the rebuild and the care that went into the rebuild. I am selling it for much less than a transmission shop would charge and that is the major reason I do not offer a warranty. Even though several parts are new, most of the hard parts in this transmission are over 50 years old.

This transmission will be delivered by Freight shipment. I will mount the transmission inside a sealed crate. I do not ship on open pallets. I will call a freight company for a shipping quote and add the freight charges to the final invoice.  The crate measures 24" x 23" x 33" and weighs about 175 pounds.  Freight shipping is cheaper if you have the crate delivered to a location with a loading dock instead of a residential address.  Delivering to a residential address with a lift truck can add as much as $100.00 to the shipping costs.  I have shipped several of these transmissions across the country and the average shipping cost is around $375.00.  It could cost more, or it could cost less, depending on where you live and if you need lift truck delivery to your address. 

Buyer can arrange for shipping if desired.  I will provide an address for pickup.  I will need to be informed if buyer intends to arrange for shipping or wishes to pick up locally at time of purchase.
