Vintage Patterson Brass Miners Safety Lamp – Gateshead – Plaque Dated 1984 – Spares / Display
Description:
Vintage Patterson Lamps Ltd brass miner’s safety lamp manufactured in Gateshead, England.
This is a traditional brass mining lamp of the type used historically in coal mines. It features the original brass construction and has a front plaque marked “1984”.
Please note the following condition details:
The front brass plaque marked “1984” is cracked (clearly shown in the photos).
There appears to be a small part missing from the base ignition/striker tube. From research this would normally house the relighting striker mechanism used to spark the lamp.
The base screws off as it should, but due to the age of the lamp it has not been tested.
Sold as found and untested, therefore best considered for display, restoration, or collection purposes rather than practical use.
This would make a great decorative mining memorabilia piece, especially for collectors of mining history or industrial antiques.
I will include as many photos as possible to show the condition clearly, including the cracked plaque and the missing striker component, so please review them carefully.
