Hand signed 4x6 inch photo by World War II vet, Dickinson Debevoise.

Dickinson R. Debevoise served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945 as a Sergeant in the 294th Combat Engineer Battalion during World War II. He landed on Normandy on June 7, 1944, the day after D-Day, and participated in key campaigns including the Hurtgen Forest, the Battle of the Bulge, and the occupation of Berlin.  His unit was involved in critical engineering tasks such as clearing mines, building bridges across the Seine and Rohr rivers, and supporting advancing infantry. His leadership during the Rohr River crossing, under enemy air attack, earned him the Bronze Star Medal.  The transport ship carrying his battalion, the Susan B. Anthony, was sunk by a mine off Utah Beach on D-Day, forcing the soldiers to transfer to other vessels before landing.
