You are purchasing an original Kodachrome 64 of NJT Newark City Subway 1946-vintage PCC #23 at Orange St. grade crossing in Newark, NJ on Thursday, August 16, 2001. These PCC cars were purchased used from Minneapolis, MN in 1952. This equipment was retired on August 24, 2001 and replaced by brand-new (slower) LRV cars. Some of these cars were purchased by MUNI in San Francisco, CA for use on their F-line and other NJT PCCs went to museums. Photography copyright by me, Glenn L. Rowe.
