CV Axle Installation Instructions：
Pre-Installation Preparation
- Tool Compatibility: Prepare a torque wrench (recommended range: 50-200N·m), ball joint separator, circlip pliers, socket set, and rubber mallet. Ensure the tool specifications match the vehicle's bolts.
- Part Inspection: Verify that the CV axle model matches the vehicle's VIN code. Check for no shaft bending, intact and leak-free boot, undamaged constant velocity joint raceways, and normal circlip elasticity.
- Vehicle Preparation: Park the vehicle on a level surface, engage the parking brake and secure the wheels, lift the vehicle to a safe height (recommended: over 30cm above the ground), and remove the wheel on the side to be replaced.
Installation Steps
- Remove the old axle: Disconnect the fixing bolts between the half-shaft and the transmission, separate the steering knuckle from the lower control arm ball joint using a ball joint separator, and gently tap the flange end of the half-shaft to remove the old axle (avoid impacting the transmission output shaft).
- Cleaning and Pre-treatment: Clean the splines of the transmission output shaft and the contact surface of the steering knuckle bearing housing to remove oil, grease, and rust. Apply a small amount of lithium-based grease (follow the manufacturer's instructions for whether to apply it to the transmission end).
- Install the new axle: Align the splined end of the new CV axle with the transmission output shaft, push it steadily until the circlip fully locks into place (a clear "click" sound is heard). Ensure the flange surface fits closely with the steering knuckle, and tighten the fixing bolts to the specified torque (reference value: 80-120N·m; refer to the vehicle's service manual for exact specifications).
- Reassembly and Inspection: Reconnect the lower control arm ball joint and tighten the lock nut. Install the wheel (tighten the wheel bolts evenly in a diagonal pattern, torque reference: 90-110N·m) and lower the vehicle.
Usage Precautions
- First startup after installation: Idle the engine for 30 seconds, check for transmission leaks, and turn the steering wheel to test for smooth operation without jamming or abnormal noise.
- Driving Restrictions: Avoid sudden acceleration, hard braking, and high-speed cornering within the initial 500km. Resume normal driving after the components are fully broken-in.
- Abnormal Condition Handling: If vibration, abnormal noise (especially during cornering), or oil leakage occurs while driving, stop the vehicle immediately for inspection to prevent damage to the transmission or suspension system.
