Rustic Wilderness is a rare, four‑panel illuminated artwork by Veronica Nemethy, combining her Adirondack landscape painting with a handcrafted glass‑and‑wood lantern form. Each of the four sides features a distinct hand‑painted landscape scene, rendered in oil on glass with the atmospheric light, tonal harmony, and romantic naturalism characteristic of the Nemethy family tradition. When illuminated, the internal light source enhances the depth and luminosity of the painted surfaces, creating a warm, immersive effect reminiscent of campfire glow and rustic cabin interiors. Veronica Nemethy (1955–2017) was an American landscape painter shaped by the remarkable artistic legacy of her father, Albert Szatmar Nemethy, a celebrated Hudson Valley painter whose prolific output influenced an entire generation of regional artists. Growing up in a family where nearly every sibling became a painter, Veronica developed a distinctive voice rooted in the romantic traditions of the Hudson River School. She became closely associated with the Ralph Kylloe Gallery in Lake George, where her Adirondack landscapes were prominently featured in fine rustic homes and published in Kylloe’s influential coffee‑table books on Adirondack and Western design. Over the course of her career, she achieved strong market success, with select works commanding prices exceeding $20,000 in private collections.

This Nemethy Lantern was bought thru the Ralph Kylloe Gallery in 2017 for $950. It is being offered for less and will make a nice addition to someone's home.
