USAF-596 Rectifier Tube

Here is one, New Old Stock, 1957 USAF-596 Rectifier Tube. The USAF-596 is nearly impossible to find.

This originally came from a Military depot. The box it came in is old and deteriorated, you can see the boxes in the last photo. I have reboxed this in a new white box. the tube is new. 

This is for 1 United USAF-596.

Heavy Duty Long Life Military Grade Construction.  This is 4 pin and would require an adapter to fit in the 5U4 Socket.

They are often compared to the Western Electric 274B. Many users actually prefer them over the 274B.

This tube has been tested on my  Amplitrex AT1000.  Please see photo.

This is a 4 pin tube, you will need an adaptor if you want to use them in a 5U4 Socket.

These were only made for 1 year. They were produced for the USAF because at high altitudes the USAF found that many 5U4 tubes would arc between pins. They contacted United to have them put 2 top pins, thus eleiminating the arc.
