This is a beautiful vintage Italian micro mosaic brooch. The brooch is in the shape of a horseshoe, made in gilt brass and set with a variety of tiny, brightly coloured glass pieces. The reverse is polished gilt metal. The brooch fastens with a pin and safety pin style hooded catch.
The brooch is presented in the retail box in which it was found, in a shoe box in my late mother's wardrobe. The retailer was Fourneret of Vienna, Austria.
The brooch is in good vintage condition, with only one tiny piece of glass apparently absent. Please see photos. It fastens securely. The box has suffered crush damage and the lid is split.
The brooch measures approx 1.1" x 1".
