This is a vintage, I believe, 1940s, Red Wing Pottery, brown, stoneware, "Dancing Peasants," covered crock.  It might me a casserole, bean pot, or cookie jar.  I'm not sure of it's original purpose.  The crock and lid are in nice condition with only a few flea bite chips in the bottom.  There is a small spot of blue paint on the bottom. Maybe that could be removed, I'm not sure.  There are no cracks in the base or the lid.  The hand painted graphic are missing some paint here and there but the piece is quite charming and could be used or displayed.  The covered jar crock stands about 6 3/4 inches tall to the top of the handle.  The base measures 8 inches in diameter. Let me know if you have any questions.  The crock and lid will be shipped quickly and will be packed with great care.
