This is a custom made flash adapter for the Polaroid SX-70 and other Polaroid cameras that use the same flash bar connector. 

You connect it with a flash using a 2.5mm adapter.  When you press the shutter button it will feel like there is a delay, but that is because the mirror in the camera flips up before the shutter fires.

I have tested each one with my entry level "Powerextra" strobe and it works fine, but be aware that I'm not able to test this on every camera flash out there.
