Guaitil is a district in Costa Rica, famous as the "pottery capital" due to its large Chorotega indigenous community, known for traditional, handcrafted ceramics made from local clay using ancient techniques. Guanacaste is referred to as the Chorotega region. And for great reason. So named for the original inhabitants of Guanacaste, the region has for thousands of years been home to the Chorotega, an indigenous groups whose name means, " people surrounded by enemies."

I couldn’t see or feel any chips or cracks. There may be a small scratch or two from age. It may be just starting to get that crazing that comes with age. I’m keeping it in a climate controlled environment and will definitely ship with care.
