Ford Model B hot rod 1932
Here we have my very cool Model B hot rod truck. It screams “hot rod” and always gets questions. Cheap to run and insure.
Starts, runs, drives, steers, stops, glass cab, based on a coupe or sedan delivery, so has more room inside due to longer doors etc. Steel bed. Steel grille shell, glass fenders, steel floor. Has been built a long long long time ago, has been about 5 different colours in its day. Has 2 full sets of keys.
It looks like it has: Jago style model B chassis, shaped/profiled rails.
Drop tube axle with Jaguar vented disc brakes, they are servo assisted and excellent.
2 litre pinto, manual gearbox. Atlas rear axle on leafs and coilovers.
Vintique smoothies with wide whitewall cross ply tyres, stainless rings and baby moon caps.
Old paint job with patina, has a really cool 60’s hot rod vibe about it, with its heavy chop and panelled paint. Has had a number of repairs and blow ins but presents well enough, with some cracking and age, as an old timey rod.
Passenger door needs a bit of hinge adjustment. I have new brass spheres for it but haven’t gotten around to fitting and adjusting, it may need the hinges packed out to get it right.
Inside it has individual seats with integral belts, mountney wheel on a quick release boss. No speedo cable but I have one ordered, it will be included. Door glass goes up and down but there are no winder handles. A pair of mole grips works fine! I have spare regulators that look the same and haven't been subjected to mole grips if you wanted to fix it properly.
Carb has just been refurbed. It has a small "chuff" from the manifold/downpipe, I think it's where the two meet.
Historic registration which states "built from parts" on the front, all numbers and cc size match. Mot and tax exempt.
There is a bonnet and bonnet sides are there for it, I normally run without, and pop the bonnet on if I need to leave it outside overnight. It needs dzus fasteners fitted to secure it. It will rip tie in place currently. The bonnet and sides will need some work.
I have some colour matched paint included.
The pictures and video form part of the description. Please study them carefully. Take into consideration that this is an old hot rod and not a modern car. It has a few rattles and squeaks as you would expect, and will need ongoing maintenance and work. At this price point it is a good value entry into a Model B, that you can enjoy and improve as you go. (apologies for the video sound quality) I have some parts included to help with fettling.
Please ask any questions you need to before making an offer. Ask your significant other BEFORE making an offer.
Location Fife KY5, price £13995 ono, price is negotiable for cash, money talks. I may PX cash my way, or swap, try me, it doesn't hurt to ask. For sale as it is and where it is. I want it to go to a good home.
* Here's some things I would be interested in, but try me on anything:
Motorhome, recovery truck, hotrod, classic car, american car, american pick up, classic lorry, rat rod. *
I know a decent reliable transport person who is well insured, that I can put you in touch with if needed, I would work on it being roughly £2 per mile one way.
If you got this far, thanks for looking!
* I also have a steel Ford Model A roadster (with removable hard top) rat rod (see additional picture) not included but for sale separately, that could be added to a deal. *
