Description

What is the QSS (Quick Shift System)?

This system uses a shift switch attached to the gear change link to enable quick upshifts without disengaging the clutch.

When the shift switch detects an upshift, the ECU instantly adjusts engine output, canceling the drive torque of the engaged gear and supporting the upshift.

Originally developed for racing, this system allows shifts without releasing the accelerator or disengaging the clutch, but its use on public roads has expanded to include production vehicles due to its ability to reduce fatigue.

This Tracer product incorporates the following specifications for convenience on public roads:

It activates only when the speed is above 20 km/h, the engine speed is above 2300 rpm, and the driver is accelerating.

It activates only during upshifts. It does not support downshifts.

It does not activate while the clutch is engaged.

Starting with the MT-09 Tracer (2017 model), the ECU and meters are compatible and pre-wiring is included to allow this switch to be fitted as an option.

Note: This switch cannot be fitted to the MT-09 Tracer (2016 and earlier models) or XSR900 (2017 and earlier models).
