For sale is a pre-owned, pretty rare Swiss Mido Multifort automatic men's watch, likely produced in the mid/late 1950s or early 1960s.
Stainless steel case and case back. Swiss Mido 917P automatic movement, 17j.


Original silver-colored textured concentric dial in excellent condition; a few early signs of aging like e.g. a number of tiny age spots or dust particles, but in an excellent state of preservation overall.  
Hands and applied golden hourly markers in very good shape, a few hairline scratches on the replacement plexi crystal. 
Unsigned stainless steel crown.


Large stainless steel case & case back. The upper case may have received a pretty thorough polishing some time ago; here as elsewhere a number of light surface scratches remain.
Bezel and lugs in very good cosmetic condition overall.

The watch is winding pretty well, although hand winding, while mostly smooth, can at times be a little notchy. 
Setting and running appear smooth.
It is currently keeping fairly good vintage time (ca. -23 sec per day, based on a recent 24hr time check).

Comes on a black leather strap with neutral stainless steel buckle.

Rare larger case: ca. 37mm in diameter excl. crown, and ca. 43.5mm lug-to-lug. Lug width 18mm.
Please note that most vintage watches are smaller than contemporary models.
Men's watches marketed in the 50s and 60s regularly featured case diameters between 31mm and 35mm, while diameters between 36mm -38mm were considered 'oversize' or 'jumbo'.
