Player Notes: Tyrese Halliburton is a superstar and a top 5 point guard today. Two time All Star- Assist leader- but how about the numbers… Let’s review: in 2023 Tyrese averaged 20 pts and 11 assists per game. So which other point guards average a 20 and 10 double double every night? Let’s look it up together…. Exactly 2…. Haliburton and Trae Young. For 2024/5? He averaged 19 & 9, better than his career averages, but a step backward from his 2023/24 numbers… but if we look a little deeper, Tyrese started the 24/25 season ice cold. He had some minor injuries. And the team wasn’t playing well around him. There was even some doubt about the Pacers viability as a playoff team. Then it clicked, and as goes Haliburton, so goes the Pacers. Tyrese’s 2nd half was even better than his performance in the 23/24 season. The Pacers climbed the rankings and easily cruised all the way into the Eastern Conference Finals. So let’s not get confused. Tyrese is truly elite and a top 5 point guard in the game today. Obviously his injury will keep him out for the 2025/26 season, but expect him back to lead the Pacers in 2026.
