Offered here is an extraordinary piece of rock and roll history: an original 1967 pressing of The Doors’ landmark second album, Strange Days, on Elektra Records (EKS-74014), signed on the front cover by all four members of The Doors — Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, and John Densmore.
This is a stereo vinyl LP, pressed at the Columbia Records Pressing Plant in Terre Haute, Indiana, and released on September 25, 1967. All four signatures were executed in black felt-tip or fiber-tip pen directly on the front LP cover.
Finding any item signed by all four Doors is exceptionally rare. Finding one on an original pressing of Strange Days — an album that never featured the band on its cover — makes this piece even more distinctive. Jim Morrison passed away in 1971 at just 27 years old, and Ray Manzarek died in 2013, meaning no new complete Doors signatures will ever enter the market.

About “Strange Days”
Strange Days is the second studio album by The Doors, released September 25, 1967, on Elektra Records. Drawing from songs originally written in 1965–66 that did not make it onto their debut, the album showcased the band’s growing studio sophistication, taking advantage of eight-track recording for the first time to create a more layered, psychedelic sound.
The album reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and eventually earned RIAA Platinum certification. It produced two Top 30 hit singles: “People Are Strange” (No. 12) and “Love Me Two Times” (No. 25). The album has sold over 9 million copies worldwide and was ranked No. 407 on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
The iconic cover, photographed by Joel Brodsky, depicts street performers at Sniffen Court, a residential alley off East 36th Street in Manhattan. It is the only Doors studio album from the Morrison era that does not feature the band members on the cover — reportedly because Morrison refused to appear.
