Glazed earthenware decorative plate featuring a hand-painted view of Lake Brienz. The central medallion depicts a tranquil lakeside landscape with a castle, a small rowing boat, and snow-capped mountains in the background. The composition reflects the romantic Alpine imagery traditionally associated with the Bernese Oberland region.

The wide rim is richly decorated with polychrome floral and foliate motifs in relief, combining deep blue, green, cream, and orange tones against a dark ground. The ornamental border shows strong regional craftsmanship characteristic of Thun ceramics.

The reverse bears the handwritten mark “Scherzinger.”

Description

Assiette décorative en terre vernissée présentant en son centre une vue peinte à la main du lac de Brienz. La scène représente un paysage lacustre paisible avec un château, une barque et des montagnes enneigées en arrière-plan, évoquant l’imagerie alpine romantique propre à la région de l’Oberland bernois.

L’aile est richement ornée de motifs floraux et feuillagés polychromes en relief, dans des tons de bleu profond, vert, crème et orange sur fond sombre. Le décor périphérique témoigne d’un savoir-faire régional caractéristique des productions céramiques de Thoune.

Le revers porte la marque manuscrite « Scherzinger ».
