Item Overview:
This listing is for a lot of two (2) unopened, factory-sealed cartridges of vintage
Kodak Ektachrome 160 Color Movie Film
in the Super 8 cartridge format. These were manufactured with a "Process Before" date of April 1979.
Condition:
- Format: Super 8 (Silent).
- Status: New Old Stock (NOS), factory sealed in original boxes.
- Storage: Sold "As-Is." While the boxes are intact, the storage history over the last 40+ years is unknown.
Important Note for Shooters & Collectors:
- Experimental Aesthetic: Film expired for over 45 years typically produces unique, unpredictable results. Expect significant color shifts, increased grain, and lower contrast—ideal for "Lomography" styles or experimental projects.
- Processing Information: This specific vintage stock uses the EM-26 process (not modern E-6), which is no longer standard. Most commercial labs will not process this as color; it is often processed as a Black & White negative by specialists like Film Rescue International.
- Exposure Tip: Due to its age, some shooters recommend overexposing by 1-2 stops to compensate for lost sensitivity, though results always vary with slide film.
Shipping & Returns:
- Items will be shipped securely to preserve the vintage packaging.
- Due to the nature of expired film, this lot is sold AS-IS with no guarantees on image quality or results once developed.
