Elise Ray is an American artistic gymnast who competed for the United States at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, serving as team captain. She won the 2000 U.S. national all-around title and was known for her elegant style and strong beam and bar work. After the Olympics she starred in NCAA gymnastics at the University of Michigan, earning multiple All-America honors. Ray later became a college coach, including a successful stint as head coach at the University of Washington, helping guide that program to national prominence.
