Spoiler Wing Removal and Installation Instructions
Spoiler Disassembly Procedure
- Power-off Protection
For spoilers with electric lift or brake light functions, disconnect the negative terminal of the vehicle battery first to prevent short circuits. - Surface Cleaning
Clean dust and oil stains on the spoiler and its mounting area to avoid scratching the car paint during disassembly. - Remove External Fasteners
Bolt-fixed type: Use a wrench/screwdriver of the corresponding specification to unscrew the bolts connecting the spoiler and the trunk lid. On some models, decorative covers are fitted over the bolts and need to be pried off first.
Adhesive-fixed type: Uniformly heat the adhesive area of the spoiler with a heat gun or hair dryer (low-temperature setting) to soften the double-sided tape, avoiding hard prying that may damage the car paint. - Disconnect Circuits (Functional Models)
Unplug the circuit connectors between the spoiler and the vehicle body, and mark the circuits clearly to prevent confusion during subsequent assembly. - Remove the Spoiler and Clean Residual Adhesive
Take off the spoiler smoothly, use a glue remover to clear residual double-sided tape on the vehicle body and the spoiler, then wipe the surface clean.
Spoiler Assembly Procedure
- Positioning and Marking
Place the spoiler at the intended mounting position, adjust it to ensure left-right symmetry and alignment with the original factory reference line, then mark the position with masking tape. - Pre-treat the Mounting Surface
Wipe the vehicle body and the spoiler's mounting surface with alcohol to remove grease, enhancing the adhesion or sealing effect. - Fix the Spoiler
Bolt-fixed type: Align the bolt holes with the marked positions, screw in the bolts sequentially and tighten them evenly (avoid over-tightening a single point that may deform the car paint). Install sealing washers to prevent water leakage.
Adhesive-fixed type: Paste special automotive double-sided tape evenly on the adhesive surface of the spoiler. After peeling off the protective film, press the spoiler firmly in alignment with the marked position to ensure tight bonding. - Connect Circuits (Functional Models)
Connect the circuit connectors according to the marks made during disassembly, secure the circuits properly (to avoid wear caused by shaking), and power on to test if the electric lift and brake light functions work normally. - Final Inspection and Finishing
Bolt-fixed type: Check the tightness of the bolts, and apply anti-rust agent on the bolt heads.
Adhesive-fixed type: Avoid car washing and high-speed driving within 24 hours after installation to ensure the double-sided tape is fully bonded.
Conduct an overall inspection to confirm the spoiler is installed flat and symmetric, with no hidden risks of water leakage or abnormal noise.
Notes
- When disassembling an adhesive-fixed spoiler, do not use excessive heating temperature to prevent scorching the car paint.
- When installing bolts, apply moderate force to avoid damaging the bolt holes or vehicle body sheet metal.
- For spoilers with electrical functions, the circuit connections must be insulated to prevent short-circuit faults.
